| Synergy in Arts Independent Staff John Meyers, Director
I have been a member of the FFCC for the past 15 years as Timing & Penalty Judge, Contest Director and for 3 years as the West Coast Representative. I am also a member of the FFJA and have worked with the FMBC as the Timing & Penalty Judge at Regional Championships for 1A and 2A Prelims and last year for 4A, 5A Prelims and Finals. I have been the Timing & Penalty Judge at Seminole High School Sound Spectacular for the past 5 years. I also have volunteered with WGI doing Unit Movement at the UD Arena for the past 3 years. I became involved with Color Guard and Band beginning in 1991 when my daughter started in marching band and color guard with Seminole High School. I have worked with both the band and guard as truck driver, prop builder and was a proud member of the pit crew. After high school my daughter joined the independent guard Shaktai and again I was the truck driver, & prop builder for this group. I then became involved with the FFCC, and have been with them ever since. I became the Co- Director with Fahrenheint Independent in 2003. I worked with that group for the inaugural year, and then returned to continue my duties with the FFCC. I look forward to the Inaugural Year with Synergy in Arts Independent (SAI) in the 2011 Winter Guard Season. john@synergyinarts.org Nikkei Meyers, Creative and Educational Team
My name is Nikkei Meyers and I was born and raised in St. Petersburg, FL. I am 32 years old and the proud parent of a 12 year old son. I started dancing when I was 4, taking Ballet, Jazz, and Tap and started marching color guard and Winterguard for Seminole High School from 1991-1995, medaling 3rd place in 1993 in Dayton, Ohio. In my Sophmore year, I spun Flag, Rifle and Sabre and have marched spinning those three pieces of equipment to the present day. Just recently, I had the pleasure of taking a Master Dance Workshop weekend with Mark Kanemura of So You Think You Can Dance. In 1996, I marched with the Shaktai Performance Company (Independent World) based out of St. Augustine, FL. The following year, 1997, I was a tech at Seminole High School for the Marching and Winter seasons and in 1999, I went back to the Shaktai Peformance Company, this time based out of Tallahassee, FL. That year we placed 5th in WGI World Championships. I decided to take some time off to be with my son and family and enjoyed going to Winterguard events and supporting the arts. In 2002, I joined a first year Winterguard in Orlando, FL, O2 Indpendent World. Unfortunately that year, we did not make finals at championships. The following year, 2003, I was on staff for the inaguaral season of Fahrenheit Independent and for the 2004-'05 Winterguard seasons, I marched with Northeast Independent (Independent World) based out of Jacksonville, FL. Again, I took time in 2006 to spend with my family and return to College studying for my Associates in Radiography. For the 2007 Winterguard season, I was on staff with the University of South Florida Independent Open winterguard. In 2009, I was a consultant on staff with the Lakewood Ranch High School winterguard, for which they medaled 3rd place at the FFCC Championships. I look forward to the Inaugural season of Synergy in Arts Independent (SAI) for the 2011 Winterguard Season and the many seasons to follow. nikkei@synergyinarts.org Brandon Simpson, Creative and Educational Team
